Integrated Authorizenet CIM Token Payment Gateway

Integrated Authorizenet CIM Token Payment Gateway
Features

MemberGate sites use a Token payment system to protect member card information - at Authorize.net it's called Authorize CIM (Customer Information Manager)

Overview

Overview

Membership subscriptions and shopping cart payments are processed through your MemberGate site using a Token system provided by your payment gateway. This allows sites to use the highest level of data security when it comes to credit card information because card details are not stored anywhere on your site.

The use of a token system reduces the risk to you, to your members and to your business as the credit card information is secured by your payment gateway. It is also essential to pass the PCI testing.

If you are already using Authorize.net as a payment gateway, it will be necessary to update your account so you use their Payment Token System. You can find it by logging into your Authorize.net control panel then look under "Merchant Profile".

1. Once CIM is enabled, from your MemberGate control panel choose to open the right nav menu and under Payment Settings Payment Gateway

2. From the 'Payment Gateway' field choose 'Authorize.net CIM' from the drop down menu

As members in recurring plans automatically renew their subscription, their information will be updated from being stored on your site to be stored in the payment gateway's token system.

Please note that you can swap to another Payment Gateway if you wish.
You can choose from Stripe or Braintree as alternative providers who also provide Token systems

Their PCIDSS checks are considerably more user friendly.

Before switching to a token gateway, we advise to thoroughly check between your choices as once the token system is in place, card data is stored by the Gateway. Should you choose at a later date to switch to another token gateway, all of your subscribers would have to re-start their membership, entering in their credit card details to manually renew their accounts to save the card data at the new Gateway.
