Managing your online community just got easier. MemberGate now includes a new feature that allows site owners to block individual members from accessing one or more discussion forums—without needing to change their member plan.
In the past, the only way to prevent a member from entering a forum was to move them to a different membership level that didn't include access to that forum. This often caused more disruption than necessary, especially when a member simply needed a temporary timeout or a warning.
With this update, you can now directly block a specific member from selected forums while keeping the rest of their access intact. This is especially useful for handling users who violate forum guidelines or disrupt discussions. You can apply the block permanently or for a set period of time, giving you the flexibility to issue temporary restrictions or permanent bans based on the situation.
This new tool makes it easier to protect the quality of your discussions, enforce your site rules, and maintain a respectful and welcoming environment—all without overhauling your membership structure.
Forum Blocking can be found in control panel in the 'Discussion Forum' menu choose 'Blocking.'
