Improved Site Rebuild Makes Progress Easier to Track
The Site Rebuild tool has been updated to provide a clearer, more reliable way to rebuild site content and track progress as the rebuild runs.
A rebuild can include many different areas of a site, especially on larger sites with a lot of content, products, departments, blog posts, media, redirects, and other generated pages. The improved rebuild process now gives site owners a better view of what is happening, what has completed, and what still needs to be rebuilt.
Clearer Rebuild Progress
The updated rebuild screen shows progress as the rebuild moves through each stage. Instead of leaving site owners guessing, the rebuild now provides a clearer sense of which areas are complete, which areas are still running, and how much work remains.
This makes it easier to follow the rebuild from start to finish and understand where the process stands at any point.
Designed for Larger Sites
Large sites may require several passes to complete a full rebuild. The improved rebuild process works through each stage in order and continues from where it left off as each pass completes.
This allows larger rebuilds to move through the site in smaller batches rather than trying to process everything all at once.
Run in the Browser or in the Background
Site owners can continue running the rebuild from the browser, or they can choose to run the rebuild in the background.
When using the browser option, the rebuild continues as long as the browser tab remains open. When running in the background, the rebuild can continue without keeping the page open, and a notification can be sent when the rebuild is complete.
More Reliable Error Handling
The rebuild process has also been improved so that a single problem item does not stop the entire rebuild.
If an item cannot be rebuilt, the error is recorded and the rebuild continues to the next item. This helps prevent one bad page, product, or content item from holding up the rest of the site rebuild.
Progress Is Preserved
The rebuild now keeps track of its progress. If the page is closed, the rebuild can be reopened later to show where the process left off.
This is especially helpful for larger sites, where a rebuild may take longer to complete.
Updated Rebuild Summary
The updated screen includes a rebuild summary with helpful status information, including overall progress, completed stages, remaining work, and rebuild timing. Each stage also includes its own progress details so site owners can quickly review how the rebuild is moving through the site.
Where to Find Site Rebuild
The Site Rebuild tool can be found in the right navigation under Master Settings Site Rebuild.
A Better Way to Manage Site Rebuilds
The improved Site Rebuild tool gives site owners more confidence when rebuilding their site. With clearer progress tracking, background processing, preserved progress, and better error handling, rebuilds are easier to monitor and less likely to be interrupted by a single problem item.
This update makes the rebuild process more transparent, more dependable, and easier to manage from start to finish.
