Braintree is PayPal's newest payment processor. Braintree allows you to accept payments without a merchant account. It allows you to accept payments with one account and includes data encryption via the Braintree Vault. This means that your customer's credit card data will be saved in the most secure manner - at the payment processor.
Available to users in over 40 countries and enables payments in over 130 currencies, Braintree is one of the simplest ways to get paid across all devices.
Braintree provides an easy sign-up process and there are no additional fee's beyond each transaction fee. The transaction fees - taken from their pricing page: 0.30 per transaction + 2.9% of the amount. That's it. There are no monthly fees, no hidden fees and no minimums. It's really simple pricing!

Braintree Vault Option and Security
Braintree's payment gateway system includes a token option which they call the Braintree Vault. A token gateway saves credit card details at the payment gateway. This allows sites to use the highest level of data security when it comes to credit card information that is no longer stored in your site's database.
The use of a token system option reduces the risk involved as credit card information is not stored on your site. It also increases the ability to consistently pass the PCI testing.
