About us
An about page for any membership organization, written to help a visitor decide they belong. It opens with a hero, tells the story of how the club began, sets out four values, introduces the team with photo cards, shows the community in numbers and includes a word from a member, then closes with an invitation to join. Rewrite the story in your own voice, swap in photos of your real team, update the numbers, and link it from your main menu.

About Harborview Members Club
A club built by its members, for its members.
We bring curious, generous people together, online every day and in person every month, so nobody has to figure things out alone.

Our story
How it started
Harborview Members Club began in 2019 around a cafe table on Commercial Street, with six friends who kept meeting people who wanted the same thing: a place to learn, share what they knew and find others who cared about it as much as they did.
The first newsletter went to 40 people. The first meetup filled the back room of the cafe. Within a year we had a members area, a library of guides and a monthly event that people traveled two hours to attend.
We have grown a lot since then, but the idea has not changed. Every member brings something, and every member takes something home.
What we believe
Four promises we make to every member, and hold ourselves to.
Everyone is welcome
Beginners and experts, near and far. You belong here from the first day.
Generosity first
Members share what they know freely, and we pay that forward in everything we publish.
Quality over noise
Fewer, better things: carefully made guides and events worth showing up for.
Run in the open
We tell members how decisions are made and where their membership fees go.
The people behind the club
A small team, with a lot of help from our volunteers and members.

Denise Carter
Executive Director. Denise joined as a member in 2020 and has led the club since 2023. She still answers the welcome emails herself.

Ravi Mehta
Community Manager. Ravi runs the forums and the events calendar, and knows the best coffee within walking distance of every venue.
Join the volunteer team
More than 30 members help run events, review guides and welcome newcomers. Want to lend a hand? We would love to hear from you.
