Accessibility statement
An accessibility statement for a membership site that tells visitors honestly where things stand. It sets out your commitment and the standard you aim for (WCAG 2.2 AA), what already works well, the parts you know need improving, how to ask for content in another format, and how quickly you respond to feedback. Replace the known issues with your own, update the date you last reviewed the site, and keep it current as you make changes. Have it reviewed by an adviser before you publish.
Accessibility statement
Harborview Members Club is for everyone. We want every visitor and member to be able to read our content, join, take part in the community and manage their account, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make websites easier to use for people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, speech or cognitive disabilities.
What works well
On most of the site, you should be able to:
- use every page with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
- use a screen reader such as JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver
- zoom the page to 200% without losing content or functions
- read text with enough contrast against its background
- find descriptions on images that carry meaning
- turn on captions for the videos we produce
- sign in and stay signed in without a strict time limit
Known limits
We know some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible. We are working on them, and here is where things stand:
| Area | The issue | What we are doing |
|---|---|---|
| Older videos | Some videos published before 2026 have automatic captions, which can be inaccurate. | Replacing them with checked captions, most-watched first. |
| PDF downloads | Some older PDFs are not tagged for screen readers. | Ask us and we will send an accessible version, usually within two working days. |
| Embedded maps | Event maps from our map provider are hard to use with a keyboard. | Every event page also lists the full address in text. |
Asking for another format
If you need something on this site in a different format, such as large print, an accessible PDF, a transcript or plain text, email hello@example.com or call (555) 014-2290. Tell us which page or file you need and the format that works for you. There is no charge.
Events
When you register for an in-person or online event, you can tell us about any access needs, such as step-free entry, a sign language interpreter or live captions. The more notice you can give, the more we can arrange.
Feedback
If you find a page you cannot use, please email hello@example.com with the page address and what happened. We reply within two working days and aim to fix problems, or offer another way to do the same thing, within ten.
How we test
We check new pages with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard and screen reader before they go live, and we review the whole site at least once a year. This statement was last reviewed on the date at the top of this page.
This statement is a starting point, not legal advice. Replace the known limits with your own, keep it up to date, and ask an adviser to review it before you publish.
Use this page
Make it yours in a few minutes
- Find it in your Control Panel. Go to Content > Page Library and search for "Accessibility statement".
- Add it to your site. Choose a title and a department. The page arrives as a draft, with its pictures copied to your site and your site's name already in place.
- Change the words and pictures. Open it in the Membergate editor, replace the sample text and images with your own, and make it live when you are ready.
