Cancellation and refund policy
A cancellation and refund policy that answers the questions members ask most: how to cancel, whether they get money back, and what happens to their account. It walks through cancelling in a few steps, sets out refunds for monthly, yearly, trial and event purchases in a table, and covers pausing, failed payments and rejoining. Change the refund windows and plan names to match your own, then have it reviewed by an adviser before you publish. Link it from your sign-up page and your terms.
Cancellation and refund policy
We want you to stay because you love being a member of Harborview Members Club, not because leaving is hard. You can cancel at any time, online, in under a minute.
How to cancel
Sign in and open My Account. You will find it in the menu at the top of every page once you are signed in.
Choose Membership, then Cancel membership. We may ask why you are leaving. Answering is optional, but it helps us improve.
Confirm. We email you straight away to confirm the cancellation and the date your access ends.
If you cannot sign in, email hello@example.com from the address on your account and we will cancel it for you within one working day.
What happens when you cancel
Your plan will not renew, and you will not be charged again. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your account stays in place, so you can rejoin later and pick up where you left off, unless you ask us to delete it.
Refunds
| What you bought | Refund |
|---|---|
| Monthly plan | No refund for the current month, but you keep access until it ends. If you are charged after cancelling, we refund that charge in full. |
| Yearly plan, first 14 days | A full refund if you cancel within 14 days of first joining. |
| Yearly plan, after 14 days | No refund for the rest of the year, but you keep access until it ends. If you forgot to cancel before a renewal, ask within 7 days and we will refund it. |
| Free trial | Nothing to refund. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged. |
| Event tickets | A full refund up to 7 days before the event. After that, you can transfer your ticket to someone else. |
Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Members on a monthly plan can pause for up to three months from My Account. You will not be charged while paused, and everything is waiting for you when you come back.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we email you and try again over the next few days. Update your card in My Account to keep your access. If we cannot take payment after 14 days, your membership ends, and you can rejoin at any time.
Exceptions
If something has gone wrong, such as a technical problem that stopped you using the site or a charge you do not recognize, please tell us. We look at every request individually and will always be fair.
Questions
Email hello@example.com and a member of our team will reply within one working day. This policy is part of our terms of service.
This policy is a starting point, not legal advice. Match the refund windows to your own plans, check the consumer rules where your members live, and ask an adviser to review it before you publish.
