Monthly challenge
A monthly challenge page for a creative membership, the page members return to all month. It opens with the theme and a short brief, sets out the rules and judging, counts down to the deadline, celebrates last month's winners in a gallery and ends with an entry form from your own Form Generator. Written for a photography community, it works just as well for drawing, writing or craft challenges. Each month, change the theme, the countdown date and the winners' photos, and the page is ready to go again.

March 2027 challenge
Reflections
Puddles, windows, still water, mirrors, sunglasses. This month, find the second picture hiding inside the first.
The brief
A reflection can double a scene, distort it, or reveal something the viewer could not otherwise see. We want photos where the reflection is the point of the picture, not an accident in the corner.
Beginner brief: find a puddle or a still pond and shoot a symmetrical reflection, with the line of the water across the middle of the frame.
Stretch brief: use a reflection to tell a story, such as a face in a shop window or a street scene in a car's side mirror.
This month's tutorial, Shooting reflections without seeing yourself, covers angles, polarizers and focus.
Entries close in
Entries close on Sunday, March 28 at 11:59pm Eastern. Winners are announced in the live critique on April 1.
The rules
One photo each
Enter one photo per member. You can replace it as often as you like until the deadline.
Taken this month
Shot between March 1 and the deadline. No archive photos, please.
Edit, don't composite
Any editing is fine, but no combining photos or adding elements that were not there.
Your own work
You took it, you own it. Model releases needed for close-up portraits of strangers.
Judging and prizes
How are winners chosen?
Priya and this month's guest judge, landscape photographer Daniel Osei, choose three winners from a shortlist of 20. The shortlist is made by member votes in the challenge forum.
What do the winners get?
First place gets a one-to-one portfolio review and a $100 print credit. All three winners are featured on the site and in the April newsletter.
Does everyone get feedback?
Every entry gets a short written note from a member mentor within a week of the deadline. Shortlisted entries are critiqued live on April 1.
What size should my photo be?
A JPEG at least 2,000 pixels on the long side and no larger than 20 MB. Keep your original in case you win and we ask for a print file.
