Refund policy

A refund policy for online course creators that states the guarantee plainly and removes the worry from buying. It gives the short version first, then covers the money-back period, how to request a refund, how long it takes, payment plans, subscriptions and live coaching, and the few exceptions. The sample sets out a 30-day guarantee for a watercolor school. Change the number of days and the exceptions to match your offer, link it from your sales page and checkout, and have it reviewed by an adviser before you publish.

Refund policy

Last updated November 6, 2026

We want you to enroll with confidence. If a Brushwork Academy course is not right for you, we will give you your money back.

The short version

Email hello@example.com within 30 days of buying any course and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason.

1. Our 30-day guarantee

Every course we sell, including Watercolor Foundations, comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The 30 days start on the day you purchase, not the day you start watching. Watch as many lessons as you like during that time. If you decide it is not for you, we will refund the full price.

2. How to ask for a refund

  1. Email us. Write to hello@example.com from the address you used to buy, and tell us which course you would like refunded.
  2. We confirm. We reply within two working days to confirm your refund. We may ask what did not work for you, but you do not have to answer.
  3. You are refunded. The refund goes back to your original payment method. Most banks show it within 5 to 10 working days.

When a refund is issued, your access to that course ends.

3. Payment plans

If you are paying in installments and ask for a refund within 30 days, we refund every payment you have made and cancel the rest. After 30 days, the remaining installments are still due, as agreed at checkout.

4. Memberships and subscriptions

What you boughtRefund
A single courseFull refund within 30 days of purchase
Monthly membershipCancel any time; you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part months.
Annual membershipFull refund within 30 days of purchase or renewal; after that, cancel to stop the next renewal
Gift purchaseRefunded to the buyer within 30 days, as long as the gift has not been redeemed

We email a reminder 7 days before every annual renewal, so you are never charged by surprise.

5. Exceptions

To keep the guarantee fair for everyone, a few things are not refundable:

  • one-to-one painting critiques and private lessons once they have taken place
  • physical supply kits once they have shipped, unless they arrive damaged
  • purchases where we see a pattern of buying and refunding the same course repeatedly

If something goes wrong outside these rules, such as a technical problem that stopped you using the course, please write to us anyway. We would rather sort it out than leave you unhappy.

6. Questions

Email hello@example.com and a real person on our team will reply within two working days.

This policy is a starting point, not legal advice. Consumer laws differ by state and country, so check it against your own offer and have it reviewed by an adviser before you publish it.
