Annual impact report
An annual impact report for a nonprofit to publish each year for donors, members and funders. It opens with a letter from the director and a row of headline numbers, reports on each program, sets out income and spending in two simple tables, and shares two short stories from the season before thanking supporters. Replace the figures with your own year-end numbers, keep the finance tables in step with your audited accounts, and swap in stories and a photo from your own programs.
2026 impact report
2026 was our biggest season yet: a sixth garden, a record harvest for local pantries and the largest Youth Growers class we have ever run. Here is what your support made possible.
A letter from our director
Dear friends,
In March we signed the lease on a half-acre lot on Sullivant Avenue that had been empty for eleven years. By July it had 54 raised beds, a pollinator strip and a shade pavilion built by volunteers from three local unions. That garden, our sixth, is the clearest picture I can give you of what this community does when it decides to.
It was also a hard year. A dry August cost us part of the late tomato crop, and the cost of lumber for new beds rose by almost a third. We met both because 418 of you gave monthly, and because our volunteers simply showed up more often when it mattered.
Thank you for being part of it.

Program results
Family plots
312 households gardened with us, 41 percent of them for the first time. Plot fees stayed at $35 a season, and 96 families received a free plot through our sliding-scale fund.
Youth Growers
140 teens earned a $600 summer stipend while running market stands, building compost systems and learning to cook what they grew. 92 percent completed the full eight weeks.
Harvest share
Twice-weekly deliveries reached the South Side Community Pantry, Linden Family Table and the Franklinton Food Shelf, about 1,900 households each month in season.
Finances
Our fiscal year runs January to December. These figures are unaudited; the audited statements will be posted in March.

went straight to our three programs. The $8,500 surplus has been set aside toward a walk-in cooler for the harvest share.
Stories from the season

A garden in four months
The Sullivant Avenue lot was full of broken concrete when we arrived. Over eleven Saturdays, 214 volunteers cleared it, laid paths and built every bed. Zainab Yusuf, who lives across the street, took the first plot. "I watched that lot from my window for ten years," she told us. "Now I watch my okra."
From mentee to mentor
Javier Reyes joined Youth Growers at 14, mostly, he admits, for the stipend. This summer, at 18, he came back as a paid junior mentor and ran the program's first farm stand at the Hilltop farmers market, selling $4,100 of produce in eight weeks.
I learned that you can't rush a tomato. Turns out that works for people too.
Thank you
