You can allow members on certain member plans access to particular parts of your site at the department level, downloads and in the forum. The default is to let 'All' members access all departments, forums and downloads, so it is a manual process to update.
Restrictive Access can be set in the following functions:
- Departments (which also control access to content pages within set Department)
- Forums
- Download Area
- Shopping Cart Products

Restrict Access to One Department:
1. Under 'Departments' choose 'Edit Department'

2. In the form field 'Member Plan Access' choose which member plans can access that department - Choose Multiple Options by pressing the Ctrl Key and clicking selections

Resctrict Access to Multiple Departments at Once
1. Under 'Departments' choose 'Department Access Matrix'

2. Click each box to check which plans to allow access to each department

3. Click the 'Modify Department Access' button at the bottom

Allow Restrictive Access to the Discussion Forum
a. In the Forum Admin, choose 'Forums' and choose the forum

b. In the Forum Access box choose the member plans that are allowed access. Hold the ctrl key for multiple choices.

Restrict Access for the Legacy Forum
1. Under 'Legacy Forums' choose 'Edit Forum'

2.In the form field 'Member Plan Access' choose which member plans can access that forum - Choose Multiple Options by pressing the Ctrl Key and clicking selections

Restrict Access to One Download File
1. Under 'Downloads' choose 'Edit File' and choose the file

2. In the 'Member Access' box, select the member plans that should have access to the download.

Restrict Access to Multiple Downloads at One Time
1. Under 'Downloads' choose 'DL Access Matrix. Select the box for the member plan to provide access to.

2. Click the 'Modify Download Access' button to apply the updates

Restrict Access to Shopping Cart Products

From under 'Commerce' choose 'Shopping Cart' Choose 'Add/Edit Product' from the Shopping Cart Menu In the 'Item Access' field choose 'Members' In the 'Member Plan Access' field, select the member plans that can purchase the product. Only members of the set plans will be able to see the product description and link to the sales page. If the software detects that it is a non-member adding the members only product to their cart, they will receive a message that they have to be logged in to order that particular product.
