How can I edit the search function of my site?

There are a few different ways the Search Function can be edited.

The Search Function can be Disabled if Desired

The search settings can be accessed from the right side of the control panel under Master Settings Search Settings

To disable the search, it is necessary to set it to not show on any nav bars on your site. The fields to adjust can be found at the bottom of the search settings page.

Select the following from the drop down menu for each field

  • Show Search on Top Panel choose 'No'
  • Show Search on Bottom Panel choose 'No'
  • Show Search on Mobile Navigation Panel choose 'Don't Show on Any Pages'
  • Show Search on Left Navigation Panel choose 'Don't Show on Any Pages'
  • Show Search on Right Navigation Panel choose 'Don't Show on Any Pages'

To Rename the Text for 'Search'

Renaming the word for 'search' can be completed from the right side of the control panel under Master Settings Edit Site Descriptions

Search Phrase

Under the Site Settings section a new word for 'search' can be added to the 'Search Phrase' box

Reposition the Search Function

The published link of the search function can be controlled in the Category section.

Repositioning the published search link can be completed under Content Categories Edit Category

Select 'Search' from the drop down menu.

Category Link Rank

Under the Category Settings section enter a number from 00-99 in the Category Link Rank field. A lower number will organize the link closer to the left or top of a list. A higher number will organize the link closer to the right or bottom of a list.
