Improve Content Discovery with Content Topics
MemberGate now includes Content Topics, a flexible way to organize content pages and improve filtering on the search page. This feature allows site owners to create custom topics and subtopics that match the structure of their content library.
Content Topics can be set up however they make the most sense for your site. For example, a workout site might create a main topic called Exercise, with subtopics such as Weight Training, Cardio, Yoga, and Stretching. Once those topics are created, content pages can be assigned to the appropriate topic or subtopic. A page about treadmill workouts, for instance, could be assigned to the Cardio topic.
After content pages have been assigned, visitors can use the topic filter on the search page to narrow their results. If someone is only interested in cardio content, they can select Cardio from the dropdown menu and view the pages assigned to that topic.
This makes it much easier for visitors to explore content based on interest, subject, or category. It is especially helpful for sites with large libraries, multiple departments, or a wide range of related materials.
Content Topics also give site owners another layer of organization beyond departments or page types. While Page Types help identify the format of content, such as article, video, audio, or download, Content Topics help identify what the content is about.
By using Content Topics and subtopics, you can create a more useful search experience, help visitors find relevant information faster, and make your content library feel more organized and easier to navigate.
