Update Site Settings for Navigation Panels

A left and right navigation panel can be set to show on or not show on your pages. Adjust the settings for these panels through the control panel.

1. Some Nav Panel design settings can be edited under Appearance Edit Nav Panels 

2. Search - A search option can automatically be added to your navigation bars.

  • Show Search on Top Panel? - select 'yes' from the drop down menu to enable. When enabled a Search Link will appear on the top nav panel.
  • Show Search on Bottom Panel? - select 'yes' from the drop down menu to enable. When enabled a Search Link will appear on the top nav panel.
  • Show Search on Mobile Navigation Panel - select to to show it on the public and/or members pages to enable. When enabled, a Search Box will appear at the top of the navigation menu on a mobile device. It will on the nav menu at the bottom of the page.
  • Show Search on Left Navigation Panelselect to to show it on the public and/or members pages to enable. When enabled, a Search Box will appear at the top of the left nav panel.
  • Show Search on Right Navigation Panelselect to to show it on the public and/or members pages to enable. When enabled, a Search Box will appear at the top of the right nav panel.

3. Show Copyright on Left Navigation Panel? or Show Copyright on Right Navigation Panel?- Select 'yes' from the drop down menu to enable. When enabled, it will show the 'Short Copyright Phrase' that is set up in 'Edit Site Descriptions' (found under 'Master Settings' in the control panel) at the bottom of the navigation panel.

4. Scripts for Left Navigation Panel or Scripts for Right Navigation Panel -  Enter any scripts or html code to run or appear in the navigation panel. If entered into the box that will appear on your nav bar will appear at the bottom of the nav panel. Must be enabled to use on the site - see step 5 below. *Usually a better approach to adding something to the left or right nav panel is through 'add category'. There is more control when adding a script into the category area.

5. Run Script on Left Navigation Panel? or Run Script on Right Navigation Panel? - Select 'yes' and members and/or public pages from the drop down menu to enable the code added to the 'Scripts for Left Navigation Panel or Scripts' for 'Right Navigation Panel'.

6. Bullet Image for Left Nav Panel Departments or Bullet Image for Right Nav Panel Departments - Adds an image next to the department link names in the left and right navigation panels. Select 'Choose File' to select an image from a local file.

7. The last fields allow you to enable the nav panels to show on the portal, department or content pages. Whatever setting is set for the department or content pages will be the default setting in 'add/edit content' and 'add/edit department' when 'Accept Default Settings' is selected.

Choose from the drop down menus whether you would like the nav bars to show on public and/or members portal, content and department pages.

8. Click the 'Apply Navigation Panel Changes' button to save the settings.
