TUTORIAL: How to Update to Stripe Elements or Braintree Drop-In

MemberGate's updated payment gateway integrations allow Stripe and Braintree users to enable additional payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Amazon Pay.

The setup is a simple two-step process. First, update the Payment Gateway and select the wallet payment options you would like to offer. Then register your domains through the new Wallet Settings area.

Choose the option for your current payment processor:

Stripe users should select Stripe Elements.

Braintree users should select Braintree Drop-In.

Update the Payment Gateway

From the MemberGate Control Panel, click the cog icon in the upper-right corner to open the settings sidebar.

Go to:

Payment Settings   Payment Gateway

From the Payment Gateway dropdown menu, select the appropriate gateway for your current payment processor:

  • Stripe users: Select Stripe Elements.
  • Braintree users: Select Braintree Drop-In.

Select Wallet Payment Options

After selecting Stripe Elements or Braintree Drop-In, additional Wallet Gateway Settings will appear.

Select the payment options that you would like to make available on your site. Available options may include:

  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • PayPal
  • Amazon Pay

Select the options that are appropriate for your payment gateway and site setup.

When finished, click Update Payment Settings.

Register Your Domains

After the updated payment settings are saved, a new Wallet Settings option will appear under Payment Settings in the right settings sidebar.

Go to:

Payment Settings   Wallet Settings

You can also access Wallet Settings using the link provided from the Payment Gateway settings page.

Open Wallet Settings and register the domains that will use the enabled wallet payment options.

Once the domains have been registered, complete any additional setup required within Stripe or Braintree for the wallet options you selected.

Complete the Setup with Your Payment Gateway

Apple Pay and Google Pay require additional configuration within Stripe or Braintree. Follow the appropriate tutorial below to complete the setup for your payment processor.
