Optimizing Images for Slider and Carousel Generators

MemberGate has optimized displaying larger images on smaller screens when using the carousel or slider generators.

Using images that are ideal sizes on web pages is important for a few reasons.

  1. Page speed: Large images can slow down the loading time of a website. This can result in a poor user experience and can cause visitors to leave the site before it fully loads. By using the right size images, you can optimize the loading speed of your website.

  2. User experience: Images that are too small or too large can negatively impact the user experience of a website. Small images may be difficult to see, while large images can take up too much space and make the page look cluttered. Using the right size images ensures that they are easy to view and don't detract from the overall design of the website.

  3. Responsive design: Websites need to be designed to be responsive across different devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Using the right size images ensures that they will display correctly on all devices, without any distortion or loss of quality.

  4. SEO: Search engines consider page speed and user experience when ranking websites. Using the right size images can improve both of these factors, which can help to improve the SEO of a website.

Overall, using the right size images on a website is crucial for optimizing page speed, improving user experience, ensuring responsive design, and enhancing SEO.

Using Images in a Slider or Carousel

Sometimes it is necessary to upload very wide images to the carousel or slider generator. For example, if your site is 1400 pixels wide and you'd like the slider to fit the width of the page, all of the uploaded images would have to also physically be 1400 pixels wide.

As the user's screen size gets smaller (if they used a tablet, for example) the images in the slider are responsive. The MemberGate software helps the browser to reduce the size of the images so they fit into the tablet's smaller screen. The same process would happen for a mobile phone as well - the images displayed would only be a maximum of the size of the users screen.

How the Carousel and Slider Generators Optimize Uploaded Images

As discussed above, it is important to use images that are the perfect size for the screen.

When larger images are uploaded to the Carousel or Slider generators, MemberGate automatically reduces the size of the images so they are ready for display on those smaller screens.

After the images are uploaded and the generator is saved, it will now take just a little bit longer before receiving the CF tag to add to your pages. The extra time is MemberGate working hard in the background to recreate those images in the correct aspect ratio, so they can be used in the slider or carousel on smaller screens.

Using those smaller sized images will help to optimize page speed, improve user experience, ensure responsive design, and enhance SEO.
